After Hurricane Mitch, a new school parallel to the Bluefields school was set up in Condega, Nicaragua, a town where 521 houses and a factory were swept away by the floods. After to intensive immersion sessions, Escuelita de Condega opened for a ten week school session supervised and taught by an all Deaf staff:
