Grammatical aspects of Nicaraguan Sign Language are being studied by Kegl in collaboration with a group of Deaf Nicaraguan signers at ANSNIC (Asociación Nacional de Sordos de Nicaragua; The Nicaraguan National Association of the Deaf). Current research foci include: questions, agreement, role shift, serial verbs, classifiers, and argument structure. Crosslinguistic comparison is underway with:
- American Sign Language (Judy Kegl)
- British Sign Language (Gary Morgan)
- French Sign Language (Margaret and Guillame Chastel)
- Taiwanese Sign Language (Wayne Smith)
