Population Study

Our population study involves collecting a language sample from each deaf signer in Nicaragua to get a snapshot of the state of language development and distribution across the country at this early point in the emergence of the language. With an estimated 4000 deaf individuals to study we have currently documented well over a thousand to varying degrees ranging from a language sample to more in depth cognitive and longitudinal acquisition studies.
