Instructions for dialup access to the Internet via UNET modems:

  1. Question: How can I connect my Windows machine to the Internet from home?

Answer: UNET supplies instructions that will get your Windows machine set up to use your modem and one of the UNET modem pools to connect to the Internet.

To use a UNET modem pool, you must have a UNET account. The instructions are available at the links listed above.

  2. Question:What versions of Windows are supported by UNET?

Answer: We support all versions of Windows from Windows 95 on. We have separate instructions for Windows 95/98/ME, Windows NT4, Windows 2000 and Windows XP. To access these instructions, please use the links above.

  3. Question:I don't know which version of Windows I have.

Answer:Usually when you start your machine the first graphics you see will tell you. But if your machine doesn't tell you which version of Windows it is running, once the machine is started up and you can see the icons, put your cursor down in the lower left of the screen. Click the button labeled "Start." A menu should pop-up and on the side of the menu you should see the version of Windows.
